SSROC revolutionises contract management list sharing with Unimarket
The Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC) is an association of 11 member councils. It covers a third of the population of Greater Sydney, or 1.7 million people.
SSROC provides a forum through which member councils can interact, exchange ideas, and work collaboratively to solve regional issues and contribute to the future sustainability of the region.
The association also provides several procurement-related services to member and non-member councils. These include:
- Building and sharing supplier lists
- Aggregating procurement spend to get better value for money
- Assisting councils with achieving sustainable, ethical, and innovative procurement
- Contract management support
- Procurement skills and training
The Pain of Manual Handling
Prior to Unimarket (formerly VendorPanel), SSROC was manually maintaining contract registers. With over 200 suppliers across 50 contracts, this approach was no longer fit for purpose.
According to Cathy Dizon, SSROC Strategic Procurement and Contracts Manager, moving to a “system that manages strategic and operational procurement on one secure platform was an easy choice.”
Making the Change to Unimarket
Cathy said moving to Unimarket has revolutionised her team’s way of working. “We’re no longer doing anything manually. Our lists are secure and easily sharable, making it convenient to provide councils with the compliance information they need about insurances and licenses.”
Cathy said moving to Unimarket has revolutionised her team’s way of working. “We’re no longer doing anything manually. Our lists are secure and easily sharable, making it convenient to provide councils with the compliance information they need about insurances and licenses. They can use the platform to seek quotes and tenders against the panels of contractors we’ve provided. It’s a very simple process, and just easier for everyone involved.”
A Great Partnership
According to Cathy, partnering with Unimarket has been an entirely positive experience. “Having been in the procurement industry for years I have been exposed to a lot of other systems that can be complicated and clunky,” Cathy said.
“I’ve been with Unimarket since its inception and I have found Unimarket to be simple to use, innovative, approachable, and flexible. They listen to feedback and incorporate it into the platform. This is so important for us as users, because we see that the company we are dealing with is listening to what we are saying and actioning our feedback.”
