Charles Sturt University launches Unimarket procure-to-pay
Charles Sturt University (CSU) went live this month with Unimarket's full procure-to-pay solution, giving it a powerful tool help streamline and automate the university’s spend management and procurement processes.
With 15 campuses and locations throughout New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and the Australian Capital Territory, award-winning Charles Sturt University is Australia’s largest regional university and has more than 40,000 students.
CSU selected Unimarket through a competitive bid process, ultimately choosing Unimarket for its comprehensive capabilities, ease of use, and ability to integrate with Ellucian Banner, the university’s enterprise resource planning system (ERP). CSU uses Banner for finance management but needed a solution for their procure-to-pay processes, from sourcing to contract management to procurement workflow and invoicing automation. Unimarket not only provided a full-suite solution, but also seamlessly connected with CSU’s ERP using its proprietary middleware and unique community-sourced integration.
"Charles Sturt University has had eProcurement as a strategic objective for some time," said Adrian Whiting, Director, Strategic Procurement at CSU. "The University performed extensive due diligence in reviewing the various solutions and providers available in the market, and ultimately unanimously selected Unimarket for its easy-to-use, unified platform of procurement tools.
"In our time working with the system, we have been very pleased with the capabilities of Unimarket’s technology, flexibility of the integration with our Banner finance system, and excellent customer service," Whiting continued. "We look forward to realizing the full benefits and value of Unimarket's procure-to-pay eProcurement solution."
"We’re delighted to go live with our Marketplace and eProcurement solution across all Charles Sturt campuses simultaneously to manage 100% of the university’s spend," said Peter Kane, CEO of Unimarket. "We were able to utilize our extensive experience with our Banner customers in the United States to integrate with CSU’s ERP. The implementation has been a great team effort, which reflects our commitment to serving as a true partner to our customers, and we look forward to demonstrating the value that a fully integrated suite of procurement solutions on a single, easy-to-use platform can provide."
Unimarket has been providing its cloud-based, unified suite of spend management solutions to higher education customers since 2007, first in New Zealand and then throughout the US and Australia. Starting with Griffith University in 2012, Unimarket has been working with Australian higher education institutions to improve their procurement processes, delivering greater value to universities and their suppliers.
The Unimarket solution extends beyond higher education as well, with customers in Australasia in the government, health, and financial services sectors. CSU and Unimarket will showcase the solution in a case study at the HES Finance and Procurement Conference on the Gold Coast in August.
